So, this half track deserved a video a long while ago and I finally finished it.

The half track is probably the best-wheeled thing I've made so far...

Features:

  • Openable hood
  • Openable rear hatch
  • 2 speed gearbox
  • RWD
  • Criste tracked suspension
  • Independent Front suspension
  • Steering with a geared down clutch gear
  • Boxer 4 engine
  • Turning steering wheel
  • Etc

I would attach pictures but unfortunately, the attached file limit won't allow it.

If you get bored of the cinematics skip to 1:02 for the functions and showcasing :3

Nice! It's good to build something different sometimes .

Although the orange panels look a bit out of place...

That's why you need to use a file hosting site, like Bricksafe - where you get a massive 10GB storage for free!

For some reason, it won't embed the video??? I'll try some youtube embedding code?

Sometimes the automatic embedding is slow, just copy/paste the URL and wait.....for.....longer.....

Yup, I fixed the embedding.

- I don't really want to get bricksafe cause I don't really want to make another account...    I feel like I would just forget about it

Bricksafe is really worth joining, not only for file storage, but it's also a great for showing all your work in one place - check out my Bricksafe for example.

And I doubt you would forget about it, because you would use it a lot more than you think!

Is there an app that I can get so my stuff can be uploaded from my phone?

Not that I know of, but can't you just upload to Bricksafe with your phone? - it's no different to YouTube.

@MattL600 a really nice nice build, congrats!  I was literally thinking about a half-track a couple of days ago - I was looking again at @Ivan_M's brilliant MOC (see below) and how that would also look great as a half-track...

Anyway my critique, FWIW -

It's well beyond my building skills to MOC one myself so I have nothing but admiration for your MOC.

IMO the front/bonnet/bumper/bodywork overall could perhaps be refined to make it look more realistic.

Swap out the orange panels, they clash!

Maybe add fender or mudguard for the front wheels, something to fill the gap between wheel and body anyway as it looks like it sits too high or the wheels are too small (would it work with larger front wheels?  That'd probably throw out the overall scale and make it look weird...)

Thanks for the nice comments!

I totally agree with you.

Everything you said I agree with, the orange pieces and most other missing things are because of my lack of pieces.

Most of the scales were messed up because the betterment box orientation was unexpected, it was supposed to lay down in the back but I had it have it stand up due to miscalculations. It is also due to the tracks that I used which were large!

I chose not to use a bigger scale due to weight which would mess up the driving!

Thanks so much for the positive comments though!

Yeah, pretty annoying :sadnew:

Maybe if someone here is a tech guy they could make a port?

Idk what I'm talking about but it's possible

I don't love it either, and it is somethings annoying to get out the camera, set up moc, take photo, process it, and upload, then link, type, and post.

I know how you feel. But IMO it's worth it in the end if you get a nice picture.

This looks good, I agree that you should change the panels, and maybe lower the front so the model isn't pointing at the sky as much. Otherwise I like it.

Yes, of couse. I need to put on my to do list: switch from using canon, to using gopro. I hope to get better pics that way.

I agree that the front needs change, and less square.

It might be possible, if the guys from Bricksafe provide an API to access there service.

They do: http://bricksafe.com/api

By the way, this might need splitting into a separate topic... :look: (but the mod's can decide that)

Woah! That sounds awesome but could you explain; What is an API?:look:

Thanks for the feedback from everyone, I agree with the points, the fenders look unfinished now that I look more carefully.

but...

I've taken it apart

As I've discussed with Porkymonster...     I'm now working on a Supercar! Yay :classic:

So it's like a thing to show how the site works?

Yes, but it's more like something that communicates how a site works to the program/app so it can use it.

So an app would just emulate the site?
