Private Arley was assigned a fun job in Nova Malto: drag an old well.

But duty is duty!  Arley tied his handkerchief over his mouth and nose and threw his hook into the old, smelly well.

He had been dragging slime out for almost an hour, wondering if it would ever end, when he heard a strange, melodious sort of sound.  In fact, it almost sounded like someone was playing the lute.  He threw down his shovel and climbed over a little stone wall that blocked his vision.  And this was what he saw:

It would seem that Corrington is having some trouble with its information bureau recently.  Not to mention more glaring errors, it might be helping out people who are not quite as needy as they've been portrayed...

C&C welcome!  I had been wanting to try out that well wall technique for a while - discovered that I didn't have enough to do a whole well, but a whole well wouldn't have fit on an 8x8 anyways...

The slime is somehow toxic ? The first stage of water table pollution ?

 

Neat built however. The well is delightfully run-down

Why of course, everyone knows that Marderians carry around buckets of slime to throw either at their enemies or down wells, whichever is more convenient!   Thanks!
