Bodi Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 This is the part 1 of our collab, the scene takes place apparently in a small Garvian tavern. 'There's no way those pesky yellow coats have gotten that far East already!', the bartender replied in an obviously shocked tone. 'Our navy is patrolling all over the Prio Sea. If what you claim is true... it can't be, nobody slips past a Garvian blockade!', he insisted. 'But I'm tellin' ya, I'm not ripping yarn here, heard it from a guy who's heard it in Kings Port himself.' The increasingly tipsy sailor felt he had to defend his reputation. 'That expedition must have reached its destination by now - And you know what they say about it, so may the Gods help us if the Marderians find that gold!' The bartender fell silent for a while, contemplating. 'If it exists' he then replied. 'If what exists?' 'The gold, the gold of course.' 'Ah, the gold, yes, the gold. Well, it has to exist, why wouldn't it exist, all the sailors East of Terraversa can't be wrong after all!' The bartender had to suppress a tiny chuckle, but then he went on: 'They'll never gonna believe me if I bring this up' 'Who isn't gonna believe what now?' 'The Admiralty, my dear lad, our Admiralty. Somebody has to report this to the authorities immediately - and it sure as hell can't be you, my drunk friend!' 'I'm not your friend, pal.' 'What?' 'What?' 'Nevermind, they'll just have to send out a vessel to intercept them - at least on their way back. They have to return eventually. And should they have found any gold - boom - our navy is going to take it from them. With their entire navy struggling to fight us and the Esland...andiandolans I doubt they could afford to have allocated sufficient naval resources to this expedition. I mean, how many ships could they have sent?!' 'Seven' the sailor replied, now being clearly drunk. 'No, it's a rhetorical question' 'Rhetorical, eh? Eight!' 'Do you even mean what rhetorical means?' 'Do I know what rhetorical means?' He then slipped right off the chair and immediately fell asleep on the floor. The bartender rolled his eyes, closed the bar, and hastened to into town. This was alarming news, those Marderians needed to be intercepted. And he was confident that they would be.  Note for the judges: The story was added after the challenge deadline, so please disregard it in the judging process. Quote
Ayrlego Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Usually I'd wait for the story before commenting, but in case I don't get time I wanted to say that is a lovely little tavern. The texture of the brick work looks very, very good. I shall probably steal borrow it at some stage! Quote
Capt Wolf Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I will echo Ayrlego's comment about the texture of the tavern walls. Excellent! And the tavern has a nice assortment of details. What would have capped it off perfectly for me would have been a tiled floor to contrast with the textured walls. But a fine build nonetheless! Quote

All credits go to KB, it was his idea and all I did is to build it in real bricks. Unfortunately I had to substitute part of his work with my own pieces, the original one is much better. It should have a tiles floor but we kind ran out of time when preparing our entry, sorry. Quote
