The brutal truth about being an AFOL builder

I've made this as a reflection, having just celebrated 10 years of showing my Lego builds at YouTube. I guess there's a reason why "AFOL" sounds almost exactly like "awful" ;)

What I actually do is browse Eurobricks.  It's cheaper than Bricklink.

This is probably the most accurate portrayal I've seen yet. Except I can't relate to number 5, because I don't MOC. And I've largely stayed away from bricklink...for obvious reasons.

This. So true. The problem for me is I'll shy away from buying a $200 modular set because I tell myself, "I'll just go on Bricklink for my MOC parts and spend a little bit." 

What happens next is this: 

And then before I know it, I've spent the same amount of money I tried to avoid. So I try to keep it under control. But it's hard as I'm sure others can attest to ;)
