Bob De Quatre Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 My entry for the Real World +200 Starfighter Contest The DF-47 "Hawk" is a polyvalent starfighter designed by the Mars Conglomerate. Its main missions are patrolling the borders and escorting freighters. Its aerodynamic shape and control surfaces allow the DF-47 to fly in the low-density atmosphere of Mars. It is armed with two 19mm gun, firing perforating needle bullets. The fighter compensates its lack of armoring by an excellent maneuverability, using 16 RCS thrusters and a group of 3 CMGs, and a high precision radar coupled to the navigation computer. The DF-47 is equipped with the last generation LO2/LH2 hybrid rocket engine for initial thrust and acceleration, and six MPD thrusters to maintain speed. Two solar panels are installed on each wing and protected by a liftable cover. Quote
Jody Meyer Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Nice, i see you found a way to make a blue print idea. I really like the lines and colour scheme. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Nice shape, especially the beak in front. Hawk's a fitting name. Quote
Littleworlds Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Now this is a really neat build. On first glance it doesn't even look like Lego Wonderful shaping and really neat details. This is close to perfection Quote
Trekkie99 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 that is awesome!!! All the little wing pieces as paneling near the thrusters is great. And the way you put the cockpit at an angle? Two thumbs up! Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Beautiful! The shaping is excellent, everything looks wonderful! What does the printed solar panel tile come in? Quote
Obi1by1 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Wow! That's beautiful. Excellent colour blocking, and like LegoMonorailFan, I think the angled cockpit is terrific. I particularly like the cluster of tanks and capsule-like structures in the main body, where the wings join it. Fantastic. Like Leonardo, I'm also wondering where the solar panel tiles come from. Bob De Quatre Posted May 6, 2017 Author Posted May 6, 2017 Thanks guys The solar panel printed tiles are from the set 70623 Quote
sander1992 Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Another stunning looking ship coming from you. Great build. Thank you for sharing. Quote
Mesabi Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Great build Bob! I really like the detailing you did all around, but especially the cylinders towards the back, the liquid neon and hydrogen cylinders. I've got a question, what would you recommend for someone who wants to become as a good a builder as you? I've seen all your great creations, that shuttlebay, that bug thing, and I want to be able to do stuff like you. Any suggestions? Quote

Professor Thaum Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Another amazing spacefighter Bob. the color scheme is well thought. Your shaping technic is staggering... as usual Quote
Sarles Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I like a good majority of the design. I think the canards look just a little thin for the design but It looks awesome. Quote
