Duplo Train Timeout?

For the upcoming BrickFair New England event, we had been discussing the possibility of having a Duplo train layout for the younger kids, but we realized that unfortunately there's an auto-power-off feature on the trains that turns them off after a couple of minutes.

Does anyone know how to disable the shutoff and keep the trains running longer?
