[MOC/MOD] Red Five X-Wing

Hi everyone.

I've been surprised by how well designed the recent Rebel ships have been recently (75050, 75155, 75172, and 75175). It's cool to have a fleet, however I feel like we're missing the most important member of this line-up, the X-Wing. Now the Resistance X-Wings are pretty flawless, yet the most recent Original Trilogy version is kinda outdated, especially with the cockpit. The most recent X-wing I have is 6212 from 2006 which is even more outdated and out of place next to the modern sets. I didn't want to spend $100 plus on 9493 which I don't feel is worth it anymore so I designed my own. It's largely a recolor of 75102 Poe's X-Wing, but the wings were built to look like the original X-Wings and the main ship has been modified to fit R2 and make the rear of the ship more accurate. The biggest issue I have with 9493 is that you have to put R2 in sideways so I tried to remedy that. Anyways, I'm now trying to gather parts to build it for real. Thanks for looking and feel free to leave any comments or criticisms, especially about the engines because thats where I've had the most trouble.
