The rim would look a bit small on a sports car, but that can easily be covered. Very smart solution!

 Great idea. I've just put it together to see how it performs and it is promising. Made a minor change however,  I swapped the beams with a long ribbed hose. Thanks for sharing, I like it.

(By the way the cv joint socket looks pretty abused on the picture.. Another thumb up  )

I've tried this before and it's not a bad solution, but I've got a special steering linkage in use in my current MOC that will put the steering pivot in the center of the wheel. It can be used with independent suspension, but not with drive.

for off-roads you can combine tire 68.7 x 34 with truck 62.4 x 20 wheel / tire combination eith positive offset and better steering pivot
