UFO Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I know it's sets of series to series, with the corresponding numbers. But how is is actually done? Is it based on weight? On price? How are they arranged in that chronological order for the set series? Is there some color, shape, flavor that goes first? So, how does set product numbering work? Edited January 24, 2008 by UFO Quote
Shadows Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Yeah, I know it's sets of series to series, with the corresponding numbers. But how is is actually done? Is it based on weight? On price? How are they arranged in that chronological order for the set series? Is there some color, shape, flavor that goes first? So, how does set product numbering work? I'm not convinced it's ever been explained, but one would assume that sets within a theme are typically in the same number range, with releases grouped as they come out. At one time you could tell if a set was Technic or Pirates or whatever, just by number, but over time it's become more mixed up. Plus there were always exceptions, with most Pirates in the 6200s, but some in the 1000s. The only pattern I can guarantee seems to be the 10000s, which are 'special' sets. The LEGO Legends, the Star Wars UCS sets, the big scuptures and Shop @ Home exclusives, the limited editions, etc. Oh, and the 20000's may end up Brickmaster exclusives, but that isn't guaranteed. Athos Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Set Numbers, How exactly are they organized? I don't know that they are... And if they are, they aren't organized very well. Steve Quote
