LEGO Alien Figs

I find they have a weak glow in the dark, and their one piece body is really annoying, especially when it shows them moving their arms in the comics and games etc. The old Life on Mars Aliens were great, use their body and legs, the new droid arms (or even a new mold), and make a new head for them, make that all in trans-green, and you have a decent MM alien!

I don't really like the new alien figs. I'm not a big space fan but I did like the insectiods. I wish TLC would make aliens like that for MM.

Just can't beat the classics I suppose. Aliens should stick to just like the insectoids, ya know like minifigs, at the very least. But ya know, if LEGO made something similar to the aliens in Aliens v Predator, I would absolutely love that...or at least tolerate it.

Oh please don't say that. :'-( If you want to refer to the Aliens designed by H.R. Giger you really should mention them in regard to an actual Alien movie (any in fact; I like them all) , not that travesty... :-X

My apologies, Sinner. AvP was just the first thing that came to mind because of the upcoming movie debut. The "Aliens" movies I do like. The Predator movie with Ahhhnold...eh, not so much.

What's the matter with that movie? Didn't you like the fact that since they knew the aztecs calendar was based on 10 that the temple would shift every 10 minutes? :-P

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, MicVash, but yours is just wrong. I love that movie therefore everyone else should too. :-P I'm joking with you although I do think that movie's a classic. You certainly wouldn't see that Predator ally with some American lady... :-| Anyway, I'm glad to hear you are a fan of the original Alien movies... X-D Perhaps some day you will develop an appreciation for the first Predator film-it does star two future governors of US states...Ahnuuld and Jesse "the body" Ventura... 8-

I think that my problem with the MM figs is that they have no expandability. They can't hold weapons, move their bodies, wear armor etc. The best thing about LEGO is that everything is interchangable. It seems that with these figs (which most of us use for something other than their original purpose ie. "moss" or "whacking") they have little playability.

So how would you guys like to see aliens in the future? I think that Bipeds are the only reall option, but who knows what LEGO will come up with.

Real aliens. That would be so cool. I think Lego should fund a trip to Alpha Qunataur 23, bring back some real aliens and then shrink them. It would save on printing costs too.

The topic was only saved because Eurobricks has a great diversity of characters and silly topic are our specialty! :-P The fact that the aliens are exceedingly lame has already been discussed before and nothing will change no matter what any of us say. Lego decided that they wanted a cheap alien and that is what we got. Mars Mission will probably have no life after the the new sets and the jellies will never be seen again. The fact that they have a second wave shows that they sold OK and probably means that instead of a better alien, next time we will get a different lame alien. :-|

I don't think i stressed my opinion on the jellies enough. They are crap. I recognise that, but I like them in a certain way. A guilty pleasure if you will. Like watching Transformers. But they do have usefullness, however limited.

My problem with space sets is that TLC always thinks that Space = Trans coloured plates EVERYWHWERE!

I just want a space line with futuristic ships, with sleek designs, and not a heap of hippy colours. MM handled that rather well, as it's colour scheme made good use of it, but ultimately no matter how much I like some of the sets, or take a tiny joy in having a jelly alien, it was pretty much a lame theme from beginning to end.

So when I say i like the jellies, I'm not saying they are good, I'm just saying they aren't as crap as what i though they would be.

You get so many aliens, you dont know what to do with them!

Although, I digress, the point can also be brought up that theyre so useless, its not even worth having them in number. Which is still true in my case.

Mars Mission aliens are one of the few things I actually hate about LEGO. I like the LoM martians, and the UFO and Insectoid aliens, but the "jellies" are just horrible...

I completely agree. It's why I doubt that Lego will replace them. They determined that kids want lots of bad guys, so they make lots of bad guys... Lame bad guys yes, but Lego do playtest these things so the kids concerned must have thought they were good enough. Once again though, the aliens don't bother me. I love the Mars Mission line.
