So i just got myself my first lego set in 30 years, opted for the technic 42029 and have spent several hours building this set.

One issue im having is that the truck when pushed forwards starts to turn the front wheels. Im sure it has something to do with the rear wheel drive mechanism being engaged, but it should be disengaged whist moving forward, allowing the rear wheels to turn without driving the centre shaft.

Could someone point me in the right direction, in how to solve this problem?

ThanksJD

Check if you have the z16 gears (both with o an + opening) in correct order. It look s like your problem is caused by that z16 that is on the steering axle.

No problem, I do not own the set, but after looking on its 3D model it is the first thing that came to my mind :)

That looks to be the issue.

The darker gear, 2nd up from botton with the o. All mine are the same with +.

I dont seem to have that gear.

I think i may have to strip it all back and see if i used it else where, but can't see it through the body work.

Thank you for your help.

Much appreciated

Just to let you know. I received z16 with the o type centre and fitted it.

The gear is shown in the photo of which it is the red gear.

This resolved the stearing issue.

The vehicle now moved back and forth with correct steering.

Thankyou again

Dan
