jayv Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Hi everyone, this is my first post. I've recently gotten back into LEGO and I'm having a blast. I'm trying to replicate the MARTA train at the Atlanta LEGO Land. After a few nights, I just can't figure out how they made to doors. I would greatly appreciate any help or hints. Here is the best picture I can find...thanks to http://yazminwickham.com/a-visit-to-legoland-discovery-center-atlanta/ Quote
deraven Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Hi jayv! Welcome back to Lego! I'm pretty sure that's just simple SNOT construction like so: Note that I used some 1x3 trans-clear plates there for the windows but those haven't been released in any sets so you'd use 1x1 and 1x2 plates there instead. Also, looking very closely at that photo, it appears that there's a couple brackets (I'm thinking part 44728 - see example below) at the top of the doors, probably like this: That's all very quick-and-dirty and it may have been done slightly differently, but hopefully that gives you enough to experiment some more and get the job done. jayv Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 Wow, deraven, thanks so much. I knew it had to be something simple, I just couldn't get over that first hump. Thanks again. I look forward to participating in the community. Quote
deraven Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 My pleasure! Looking forward to seeing you around the boards (and maybe your MARTA MOC when it's done)! Quote
