Wondering if there's any easy way to get those free posters they sometimes give out but... not folded, therefore ruining the poster.

If I went into the store during one of those offers (are they even offered in the stores?) do they come folded? I'm looking right now at the Lego Batman Movie ones. I'm pretty sure if I went for them I'd be disappointed (like I was with the Star Wars one). Just ship them in a tube!

There are ways to smooth out the creases. You can use an iron, but you have to be very very gentle with it on very low heat. You would put the poster on a rigid piece of cardboard, put a bedsheet on top, and iron on top of that. Essentially you're using the weight of the iron and super low heat to get rid of the crease. My method is that I will let the iron warm up a bit, turn it off, and use the residual heat to iron with.

It's not a perfect method, but it will help a lot to get out the worst creases.

Most free posters Lego gives away come folded, likely just as a matter of convenience for distribution (in general you can't be picky with something that's being given away free at events or with purchases). However, for actual movies like The Lego Movie (or even some Lego video games) you can probably find the actual advertising posters available for sale in un-creased formats.

I found that independent toy stores in the UK often have rolled rather than folded ones. I got a load of Nexo Knights and Friends ones this way.

Never seen the SW or other licensed themes like this though.

I remember finding digital versions of the Star Wars posters from a couple years ago.  Has anyone come across hi-res images of these posters yet?

Iron Man 3 posters a few years ago were not folded. Granted, I was in Chicago on business and they gave me free posters, yet I had nowhere to put them so they got crumpled on the way home. Oh well. But usually, from what I've seen, they are folded. Especially easy to mail out in a mailer instead of trying to mail a tube. They need to maximize profits somehow.

I have found that sometimes at conventions Lego will give out unfolded, unrolled, flat, posters.

I was able to get a couple sets of all 6 of the Lego Star Wars movie posters that way (episodes 1-6).  A month or 2 later they were giving the same posters out with a minimum star wars order through S@H but those came folded.

I have tried getting the creases out but it never works well enough for what I want.
