damjan97PL Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Hi Everyone. Today I want to show you my flatbed truck with a gantry. Dimensions: -Length: 41cm -Width: 12cm -Height: 14,5cm -Weight: 1420g A truck has propeled by 1 XL motor with 1:1.4 ratio. First and 3rd axle is steered by Servo motor. Additionally a 3rd axle is lifted by M motor with 1;8 ratio. The working way is simple, a axle with a gearwheel is mounted pernamently and is working all time, but the rack is lifted with a wheels whereby there is no connection between rack and gearwheel, Additionally a wheels are blocked by the wheel arches. The gantry is only a addition for a truck so I don't post so much. A trole on top is propeled by 2 M motors. In the trole is a selektor behind a drive or lowering/ lifting a hook. A truck drives good. A cabin has a openable door and datails in interior. I'm waiting for your comments. tismabrick Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Cool, steering and lifting axle. I always wondered how this could be done. Would be great if you could share details about the mechanism. Thanks! Edited January 28, 2017 by tismabrick Quote
Lakop Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 A very clever creation. The gantry is a great addition. You've put a lot into it. H Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Very cool, loved watching the video... Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 That is a really nice truck. I love the scale and 3rd axle lifting/steering mechanism. I also like the use of 3x11 back panels for the bed - makes an nice and realistic texture. Job well done MOre info/photos on that third axle mechanism would be great Best regards, miha Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Excellent truck! Lot of functions for this scale, but the lifted + steered axle is cool. I second the request for more details about it. Quote

tismabrick Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Thanks for the photos. I still couldn't figure out though how it works :( Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 9 hours ago, tismabrick said: I still couldn't figure out though how it works :( Maybe I can help you a little? What I think happens is: When the liftaxle goes up the steering disconnects. This because the steering gear is fixed and by lifting the axle the gear rack is detached from that gear. The steering axle has a pivot point which makes it possible to be lifted and that happens with a mini actuator... @damjan97PL there is one drawback and that is when lowering the rear axle with the front wheels turned to left of right. Is this correct or am I mistaken? Quote
