Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1792415 It looks better than the official to me. What do you guys think? Hewman Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1792415It looks better than the official to me. What do you guys think? Infinitely better, it has a real solid chunky feel about it. The 7664 is half price over here in Oz at toys r us and I still don't want it even though I love ties, this one I'd be very tempted to buy. Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 It looks much more solid, in much more proportion, and a much better scale and color scheme. I like it heh :-$ Quote

Bulkier and more powerful-looking. *vader* Quote
iamded Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 It does look much better, lots of greebles. :-D More compact too. *y* ~Peace Quote
Palin Jax Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Man, can you say "bricklink", saweet!!!! Note to TLC, hire that guy... or else >:-) . Quote
Deinonychus Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 There always has to be one in the thread... I actually like the LEGO version better. It looks more like the pre-established images of the Century Tank I've seen since Dark Empire came out 16 years ago. I suspect a lot of the appeal of the custom job is the lack of blue. Removing the blue from a TIE and adding gray in its place changes the look considerably for the better...even if I have grown fond of the blue Quote
ZoL Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 It's a good representation of a good set idea, much better then TLC's! Quote
General Zen Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Imagine, this is so much smaller and to scale that lego could have cut the price of the other tie crawler to give us this less costly masterpiece! Looks super sweet! *sweet* Quote
Icesaber Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 The TLC one has a more accurate shape than this one, when compared to it, I think. I agree with Deinonychus, I think people think this looks better because it's grey. Compare with links in the first post and this. TLC's has a long engine pod thing, which is what the ref pic has, but the MOC has something like Vader's TIE's engine block, which isn't on the ref. Quote
