Victor Imaginator Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) I forgot to shoot video of my Cheetah Buggy and already disassembled it, just because developed new suspension again. Now it's a 4x4 crawler that may look like wrangler from some points of view) Features: Live axles with some kind of weird 4-link suspension Servo mounted on the axle for steering 1 XL reduced 5:1 for driving (i was surprised how agile my crawler is with only one motor) No differentials, just direct drive Portals hubs that actually increase clearance a lot, at least at rear axle) Openable doors Stock spare tire Few interior and exterior details Suspension uses 14 hard shock absorbers and 2 soft, just because i don't have 16 hard absorbers. And it's still very soft because of geometry. Here's no anti-roll bar, but rolling car side to side force control arms to twist a litlle - and it acts like anti-roll bar. It's only a slack caused by small distance between upper and lower control arms. But, thanks to you, i will write this into features now) Quote

Flexing axle side to side do not bend any parts, but twist them. If axle flexing 20 degrees - this 20 is somehow divided between left and right control arms, 3L Tan pins and some surrounding parts. Spring almost no flexing at all, because they shorter, and have their inner possible slack. After riding around hazardous conditions around 3 hours at all, i disassemble whole car for making instructions, then assemble it again. No any damage was noticed.
