I have tried various sorts to no avail.

Is there an import duty on parts bought from Europe? Amount?

Can I have a specific, recent, answer from someone who has done it?

I need to order relatively large quantities of odd parts and all the vendors with sufficient quantity seem to be in Europe. I prefer to get US parts but having to split the order among several vendors becomes costly.

Does any one have the code for Lego parts so I can search the federal data base?

Thank you,

Ed

Unless you're ordering a huge amount (many hundreds or thousands of dollars in an order, the bricks needing to be shipped via cargo on a pallet - that kind of thing) you should have no issues.  Most sellers would just label the shipment as "toys" and there's no import tax, but if the order is large enough it might get held at Customs and looked at to determine if it's a commercial order- that kind of thing.  I've ordered Lego from sellers in Asia and Europe several times with no additional fees and if you google around a bit you'll see numerous other people asking this question and getting the same answer, so I think it's pretty safe to go with it.  Going the other way (US to Europe) it can be a different story, but coming into the US shouldn't add any additional import cost.

Happy importing!
