What does everyone do with all the instruction booklets you have?

I've been sorting out my spare room today to get my pc desk set up and some of my lego on display and noticed I have a huge pile of instructions.. some back from the 90s. pretty much all of the bigger items I have are all built and don't intend on taking them apart.

I guess I can store all the instruction in the loft? Do people Bin them? seeing as you can get instruction off the internet?

Cash (paper) is king! I store all of mine, it`s not the same browsing online. Regret I didn`t took care of the ones from my childhood in the 80s and early 90s.

They go into the box the kingdoms chess set came with, and when it is full (which might be very soon), I will have to find a second box of a decent size. Throwing them away would mean a terrible waste of resources to me. Not only considering how expensive printing and paper prices are today. I have an alternative though, if someone really doesn't wants to keep the instructions: sell them. Just make clear it really is only the manual you are selling

You can google swooshable + the Lego set number and it'll give you a link to Lego's PDF instructions, but often the black parts scanned too dark to see detail. I like having the PDF in case the hardcopy gets too dusty or misplaced. I also like seeing the instructions before deciding to buy because I can see the parts list if any interesting parts are in there.

I used to have a filing box (a big lidded tub with internal rails for files) that eventually gave up under the weight of everything. Handle snapped, box cracked, and all the little card hammocks inside tore away from their metal supports.

So don't use filing boxes! Or if you must, get loads of them and spread out the weight.

Nowadays I use an aluminium flight case. I have learned BUGGER-ALL.

I keep mine in several 15 qt. plastic, sealed tubs. I need to do a better job of sorting so I can find them easier though. At least they are fairly well protected.
