superspurs18 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Busy sorting out my Lego figures to display and I'm listing all i have and i have a bit of a strange question... when is a superhero classed as being in his superhero persona? I have a few Captain America figures where he doesn't have a helmet on and I'm not sure whether to list them as 'Captain America' or 'Steve Rodgers' lol? Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 He's still Captain America if he's wearing his suit. Also it's "Steve Rogers" not Rodgers Your title question is very philosophical, but when is philosophy not philosophical? Quote
micksandals Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 If he's wearing his suit and has his shield he's Cap, IMO. Quote
dulsi Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It's not the suit or the powers that makes someone a superhero. It's their personality and their self-sacrifice. As such even dressed as Steve Rogers, he is still a superhero. As for what name you would give him when the costume but not the mask/helmet, I'd agree with the others. He is still Captain America. BaneShake Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Generally, but not always, a "super hero" is someone who fits most of the general criteria of the genre, such as: a costume, a desire to stop criminals, powers, existing in a super-heroic universe (or multiverse), so on. So, even when not in costume, the characters are still super heroes. Quote
