Takanuinuva Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Is there any way to separate the two components of the small turntable piece? http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=99009c01#T=C Quote
Saberwing40k Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Yes, but why would you need to? I can think of absolutely no reason to disassemble one. Quote

I want to use the geared half as as filler part of a staff. Its the same diameter as a 24 tooth technic gear so theoretically it should fit into the drill part http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=64713&idColor=95#T=C&C=95 Quote
Saberwing40k Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 No, it won't. The geared (Black) part is much bigger than a 24Z gear. That part has 28z, and is larger than 3 studs in diameter, whereas the 24z is just about 3 studs. Lastly, if you need one, you can either get the parts separated from Bricklink, or get a set that includes them, as they come separated in package. Quote
doug72 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) Why not just use a standard 24T gear which is designed to fit that part ! Use an 8L axle with stop through the hole at the other end to secure the 24T gear in place, giving you a 2L section of axle protruding to secure to the next part of your build. I did place an order for one on Bricklink so I'll wait for that one to arrive rather than attempt to separate the one I already have. I guess this topic can be locked then. Quote
