Do these fit together

Just doing some shopping for my son's birthday and wondered if anyone had tried this or knows the answer.  

There is an upscaled mug available Item 853465 and a large 2x4 alarm clock Item 2856236

So I was wondering, are the studs on top of the alarm clock compatible with the indentation on the underside of the mug?

I'm 99% sure they won't fit together. I've never seen the mug in person before but I'm assuming it's regular mug size (and in relation doesn't have a tiny stud indent underneath). The clock on the other hand I have at home, and the studs aren't really that big, plus one of the studs is the alarm button.

And I can't imagine they'd want something holding liquid to go on something with electronics inside

OK, let's try different approach.

Does anyone know what the diameter of the individual studs on top of the alarm clock happen to be.

The mug DOES have an indentation on the underside, I know that to be a fact, I've had one in my hands in the past.  It's a scaled up replica of the mug that appears in practically every single City set.

the mug is 8cm dia, and a stud on top of the clock is 2.5cm. So, as I said..
