CopMike Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 From Kim Thomsen: Quote We've recently seen a growth in questions and also in the confusion on what a LEGO Certified Store is and how it differs from the LEGO Brand Retail Stores and monobrand stores. I've put an explanation up on the blog, so you do not have to copy/paste the entire thing in order to share it with your community. The blog post can be found here - https://lan.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/42 The primary confusion we've seen is that people mistake LEGO Certified Stores for LEGO Brand Retail and therefore expect VIP card usage, PaB walls and so forth. We've also seen that some assume that this has to do with the LEGO Group not wanting to open a LEGO Brand Retail Store in the country - that is not the case. LCS and LBR stores can exist in the same country, there is no rule that prevents this from happening. Quote
Sven F Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Thanks for sharing, I know the difference, but a lot of other people are confused. Not quite sure how putting untrained staff behind a store that does what it pleases behind such an established and reputable brand goes for protecting said brand, but what do I know. Nice to hear about the loyalty program. All the "deals" our certified store ever offered were pointless. Doing offers like 30% off where they actually just raise the old price up. They have a sort of program now which isn't worth carrying the card in your wallet for. Only thing I ever use the store for is the PaB wall which isn't as great a deal as your usual PaB because there are no cups, you put the bricks on a scale and pay by weight. 1kg = EUR 80 What are BrickBang and electricBricks in Madrid then? they look like old monobrand stores. makoy Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I know the differences between LCS and LBR too but I can't find in the blog post where it mentions LCS and LBR stores can exist in the same country. Which country is that? Quote
L@go Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 It doesn't say they do - it just says that they can. Quote
62Bricks Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 I wonder how large the "defined regions" are - there are some large metro areas in the US without LEGO stores. Would they allow certified stores to open in these US cities, I wonder? Quote
