TitusV Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Chapter I Chapter II On yet another sunny day (that is, on a not so gloomy day. We're in Nocturnus after all), Alric was following Gal Turok's back. Because the weather seemed to be holding, that shitty piece of goblin wanted to make a ride. A ride! While his lands were being pillaged by wandering Drow, mist Turok wanted to make a ride. Gal Turok: Hey, Alric! Where are you man? I want to show you something. Alric, who's horse had stopped so he could easier think, spurred it hastily and tried to catch up with the Goblin leader, all the while trying to appear not hasty at all. Alric: Is there anything? That would surprise, in this middle of no- Gal Turok: Yes, ther's something. Look ahead of you. What do you see? Alric: Well... Nothing, actually. Why are you asking such strange que- Gal Turok: Exactly. This is what rest of the Nocturnian peasantry. So would you stop whining about your poor farmers. Be glad you have farmers left! Mutters unders his breath: Silly hippie. --------------- Thanks for looking, again CC very welcome! I hope you enjoyed the little story, and maybe Blufiji and I will add some chapters. Or maybe not, I don't like Gal Turok's "silly hippie" I need to thank @Blufiji for support by the last, say, five MOCs or so? This one is completely based on his style (though the cottage-technique is by Soccerkid6). Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 You did very well with that stonework technique Nice blending of colors for the ground as well, though perhaps a few tiles here and there to break up the studs would look nice Quote
Blufiji Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 My critique remains the same, other than that, the stonework on that house is excellent sir! Quote

A bit less studs wouldn't have hurted, as you say. 1 hour ago, Blufiji said: My critique remains the same, other than that, the stonework on that house is excellent sir! Thank you sir! Quote
Slegengr Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Nice build, TitusV! The stone hut is nicely done in SK's style! The whole build is very fitting for Nocturnus. The ground texturing is great, especially with the color variation. I actually think the studs add to the ground texturing nicely. Tiles would probably be too slick and shiny for dirt here, though they would still work here or there in small numbers. Quote
Brandon Stark Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 There have been really nice builds from you lately, and this is no exception. The story is good and entertaining. The cottage looks really nice, probably the best one you've done, and the ground, with the mix of colors, has a really "Nocturnian" feel to it. Quote

When I saw SK using hte house-technique in his Nordheim collab, I thought that it would fit better in a Nocturnian landscape. So I looked at ZC's Nocty builds, and combined the two. 2 hours ago, Brandon Stark said: There have been really nice builds from you lately, and this is no exception. I don't think it's my best cottage yet (I prefer the left one in my signature), but it looks neat yes Nice that you like the story! Quote
LittleJohn Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Very nice cottage, Titus, the stonework turned out beautifully The blending of colors in the ground is very well done, and I like the little sapling growing out of the rock. Quote
Exetrius Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Nice cottage, reminds me of the typical shepherd huts high in the mountains, built by stacking whatever stones are available. The colour patterns for the terrain is really nice, but it could use a few more tiles to break the studded surface area a little more. Also, even though Nocturnus is a gloomy place (), I think your builds would be done more justice if you were to increase contrast and/or saturation of your image a bit. Quote

I went to Iceland last year, and though it is not on purpose I think the cottage has a beet that feeling. My photography is indeed a big pain in the megablocks, and it doesn't increase during winters Quote
