TheFrisian Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I have to agree with Iamded and Batbrick here, comparing the current Castle theme to Timecruisers, Alphateam or Agents is like comparing apples to oranges. I think TLC managed quite well to combine the best of classic castle with a more fantasy based theme. Not only is it a new and fresh concept, but it has something for everybody. And to be honest, an Elves faction does seem to be the most logical next step in the continuation of the current Castle line. A Robin Hood like theme has already been done in the past, so it is unlikely that that theme will be revived. An Elves faction fits the overall fantasy theme and it could very well be combined with a Forest theme. However, I do agree with Klaus-Dieter that we really need to see some more civilians. It would give the Castle line a lot more depth when there were some villagers to defend. Quote

And the addition of the peasant in the Advent Calendar makes that all the more a possibility. *sweet* ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 And the addition of the peasant in the Advent Calendar makes that all the more a possibility. *sweet* ~Peace Yay! :'-) Personally, even if we get just one peasant I'll be happy, because atleast its a step in a good direction. I'd like to see wave 3 focus more on elves and "village attack" sets, which is a geat way to have playability and vilagers. Batbrick Something! *wacko* Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I don't mean to be rude, but surely, even though you dislike the new creatures, you could see that it is something fresh and original? Castle has always been human vs human, only now has it taken a new turn, doing something different. I would rather see that than have just another human only line, or else there is nothing to distinguish it.Batbrick Something! *wacko* We all have our preferences. While I don't think that a 'human vs. human' line is particularly original, I'm not exactly convinced that any cliche line should be used as an example of originality. Elves? Dwarves? Orcs? These are fantasy fodder that appear in countless works of fiction. They are common in movies, toys, games and fantasy literature. Another fantasy cliche doesn't stand out to me as being much different than another group of generic knights. That's why a civilian focus really interests me. It is the one side of castle that is rarely touched upon. Quote

Deinonychus Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 It's fine the way it is. While I like the Orcs and Dwarves and Trolls...it's starting to get a little too Dungeons & Dragonsy for me. Personally I'd prefer they went back and concentrated on the Army of Darkness vibe with the Skeletons *skull* Quote
MrCustomizer Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I voted for other creatures. I like my animals, beasts, and creatures! Quote
Tanotrooper Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I'd like to see Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, etc. I'd love to see some more villagers too. TT Quote
