The Daphne Blue Strat Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hello all... I am new to customizing Lego figures. Very new. As in...I await a response to this post to make my first attempt! I have downloaded a selection of torso decals from this fine forum. What should I print them out onto? Is there a specific brand, type of paper (adhesive?) you recommend? General ideas? Also, I keep reading (and noticing) that I will have to resize decals in order to use them. To what dimensions, exactly, will they need to be resized? Finally, is there anything else I should know? Or...is there a comprehensive "how-to" somewhere that I've missed, which may answer all of these questions? Thanks in advance... Quote
PrincessAriana Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 The best way to get the decals printed is for Kaminoan to print them out. It costs money though but it's worth it or if you really want to print them out yourself buy some waterslide decal paper. It's a bit tricky to apply it but worth the work. Hope this helps. Quote

It gives me a bit of a starting point for sure...thanks. Should waterslide decal paper work with a (fairly standard) HP Photo printer? Also, what dimensions do the decals need to be resized to? Quote
Piranha Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Its all about if your printer can print them at a very high quality. Kaminoian uses a very expensive Industrial printer ;-) As for resizing Minifig Custom Network is a brilliant place to go for tutorials and to view other fans works. I would recommend Kaminoian though, I have purchased his decals and they are excellent, he provides great instructions and even a few extra decals to practice with. :-) I don't know whether or not he accepts special requests though........
