Well, I've finally made a difficult decision...I'm selling off the majority of my classic space minifigs. My reasoning is that I am a town and train fan at heart. Space was never really a big thing for me, and I never really accumulated that many figs until I bought two huge bulk lots. Now, I have over 100 Space/Aquazone Minifigs I want to sell. Sorry I made that bold, but what better way to catch your attention? ;-) They range from a variety of subthemes, spanning more than 20 years: Classic Space, Futuron, Blaktron II, Space Police II, Ice Planet, Spyrius, Unitron, Roboforce, M-Tron, U.F.O., Exploriens, Insectoids, Aquasharks, and Aquanauts.

Most of them are in excellent shape and are complete. However, in some cases they are not complete as they originally were. Some of the figs, I had to substitute regular smiley heads for the original. And in Ice Planet's case, some of the orange visors were missing. But almost all of the ones that came with airtanks, come with their airtanks.

I just made a bricklink store and was listing these individually, but to tell you the truth I would prefer to sell them all at once and be done with them rather than wait for people to buy a few at a time. So I was thinking maybe e-bay might be better. So what would you guys/gals suggest? I would especially like to hear from people who have done the same thing.

As you know minifigs sell GREAT :-D on ebay

on bricklink you need to sell them 1 at a time

I would go with ebay if you want to get rid of them all at once

Yeah, especially Star Wars ones. If you can buy a huge lot on e-bay for around $100-200, sometimes you get lucky and get a lot of Star Wars figs. They've often helped me make much of my money back. Before the new set with Darth Maul, I was able to get $25 for the original Darth Maul figure. 8-

So I finally listed my minifigs on e-bay. There are 104 in total. You can see them here. Although the bidding is starting at $20 I do have a reserve price set at $115. I know that the low price is to stimulate bidding, but due to some very disappointing experiences in the past (where I sold some things for considerably less than their actual value) I've decided to go ahead with a reserve. If you check out the link, you can see all the details on the figs. I tried to be as thorough as possible.

hm.... don't think you'll make it all the way to $115 though... most figs you've got there aren't all that popular and a quick look at the space guys tells me most aren't actually classic space...

still, hope you get a high price for it

oops, I always thought anything before the Star Wars line could be considered classic space now that they're pretty old. I don't know if I'd get that much either. I guess I'll just have to wait a few days and make adjustments if I need to.

I think that you may be over-estimating the value of your figs. Many of the lines your selling don't go for alot on Bricklink and alot of your figs are incomplete (wrong helmets, visors, heads, etc.). When buying in bulk, buyers typically expect a better deal to boot. Many of the figures your listing can be had on Bricklink for less than $1.00. The unfortunate reality is that not all minifigs carry the same demand in the marketplace. Lines like Ice Planet, Spyrius, Blacktron II and Aquazone don't fetch as much as Classic Space or Futron. Most of the figs you've got listed just aren't that popula. Also, it seems that most buyers go to ebay looking for a bargain. There are risks to purchasing off of ebay (for both the buyer and seller) that makes alot of people reluctant to pay high prices.

All of the above factors make this a pretty tough sell. I just can't see many buyers forking out $115 for these guys. Sorry.

Doesn't bother me if it sells or not. If they only go for $50 then it just isn't worth it for me to worry about. And I know people go to e-bay to look for stuff cheap, but not always. I remember seeing a listing with 3 U.F.O. figs go for over $30. They definitely overpaid by a lot. I'm keeping a reserve simply because I don't want to get disappointed as I have in the past. If the bidding only gets to $35 it won't bother me, because then I'll at least have the assurance that I still have my minifigs.

I was going to sell most of my castle minifigs, and they seem to do better, but nostalgia got in the way and I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I would happily buy any Blacktron 1 or 2 figs for a reasonable price! *sweet* Shame you didn't get the $115 though. :-/

Sorry to say that I did end up selling them as a second chance offer. I didn't get $115, but I did get $90 which wasn't so bad. If I come across any in the future I'll probably end up posting them here. They're not really worth selling individually on e-bay.
