My 7-year old has been asking for a buggy motor for ages so I got him one to give as a Christmas/Saint Nicholas present in a few weeks. It arrived today, trouble is I didn't realise the power connection isn't compatible with the new Lego Power Functions. Can people please point me in the right direction of what I need to do to get the motor to work? Thanks in advance!

Oh and also, do people usually have one buggy motor for each wheel they power or is one buggy motor enough for my son to use in his models (mainly his own creations).

You'll need PF extension wire (that LBG end), and advanced controller for remote control - V2 reciever or S-brick to power the motor. Ordinary IR reciever stalls when it has to feed the motor directly.
For smaller cars, one motor is enough for whole car (connected directly to the driven axle. It is fast (maybe more than enough) and there's minimal friction. Bigger builds or more complicated drivetrains need gear reduction.

Yes that one, or the longer one.

Fab, thanks. I'll get one of each so he can build whatever he likes.
