Build it sideways? Use large plates as the main structure, and stick them vertically, popping it in between the studs. That could be another way. :-)

I agree with my archenemy/friend/victim here, using studs sideways is a great way to save bricks by using plates on angles. The studded look makes it look more "terrainy" too.

Hate to reference my own stuff, but my Batbrick Cave used this, and I think it worked well, as I had little black bricks left.

Hope that helps!

Although things get a bit sticky when it comes to making terrains minifigs can stand on (it produces small outcroppings)...And wouldn't there be stability issues?...Plus i have few large plates free (mainly because i don't like taking my sets apart because in my opinion, what i build isn't what i'd like. (of course, i could be setting ridiculous standards on myself, expecting a 13-year old to build like a AFOL...)

They actually don't look that strange standing on a slope, I don't think. But you could make some small normal outcroppings using those hinge peices. You know, the 2x1 clips that can rotate 90 degrees.

Also, stability can be an isssue, so use colours of bricks you don't want to use under it to stabilise it, so they remain hidden :-)
