Ramses25 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) Hello everybody ! I'm back today with a new topic to present you all my TIE models. All are close to minifigs scale and brick-buildable. I tried to make them sturdy enough to be playable and swooshable, but with keeping a great amount of details. I took inspiration from some MOC on this forum and Internet to build all those TIEs. I will update this first post to add renders, photos of all of them. Let's go !TIE/Ln "Fighter": LDD model: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fszj59z4p86l1q9/TIE Fighter.lxf?dl=0 Renders: https://flic.kr/s/aHskWedgS6 Part-list: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bx7qovr0ebo8uon/TIE Fighter.bsx?dl=0 Brick-build model: Yes TIE/Sk "Striker": http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/145812-wip-moc-tiesk-striker/ LDD model: WIP Renders: None Part-list: None Brick-build model: None TIE/In "Interceptor": LDD model: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ec7rpz7qycmredz/TIE Interceptor.lxf?dl=0 Renders: Coming soon ! Ramses25 Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 New model added : the "Twilight Squadron" TIE Fighter ! Ramses25 Quote
dream-in-bricks Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Ooo, Twilight Squadron... is that new? I assume it's part of expanded universe? Where can I see more reference artwork? I am intrigued by the connections between the pylon and the wing (wings' inside center). It looks like you are trying a few different ways. The one on the TIE/IN look quite compact but it may not be wide enough to hold the weight of the wings (if so, try shedding bricks off the wings first). I hope you get to build them with real bricks and swoosh them around to see which connection works best. Edited November 7, 2016 by dream-in-bricks Quote
Ramses25 Posted November 9, 2016 Author Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Hi ! The "Twilight Squadron" TIE is from the comic "Rogue One n°2 : Biggs Darklighter". You can see some views of the fighter in the comic or internet. The wing connection used for the TIE Fighter is barely the same as the official First Order TIE with a small modification (thanks to LiLme for the inspiration !). I brick-built my First Order TIE and The connection is very strong ! The connection for the Interceptor in only brackets plates buried inside the wing. According to Belkor is sturdy enough to carry the weight, but I need to brick-built it to be sure. Ramses25 Edited November 9, 2016 by Ramses25 Quote

Fell free to build your own TIE collection ! Thank you very much ! ;) Ramses25 I wanted to share this on your page first. I did my own cockpit design based on the actual model. Attached is the LDD in case you wanted to modify your collection. EDITED UPDATE: CORRECT LDD FILE: 121516LDD for Cockpit 12/15/16 Fixed Link Edited December 16, 2016 by cehnot Quote
Ramses25 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) Thank you cehnot ! Your version of this cockpit looks very accurate ! Unfortunately the link to your file seems dead. I think I will at least try to put your control stick design into my own cockpit ;) Ramses25 Edited December 15, 2016 by Ramses25 Quote

I always post my most current LDD on brick safe with my images in a folder for that project. If you ever need files, check there by clicking on the images and it should take you to the folder. Quote
Ramses25 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Very nice ! But I would replace the trans-green parts by trans-red to match the color of the target sensors of the TIE ;) Like you modifications on the wings connection to make it sturdier ;) Ramses25 Quote
Calanon Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I have modified Cehnot's design to include my rear viewport. Quote
Ramses25 Posted March 17, 2017 Author Posted March 17, 2017 (edited) Hello ! I'm back for a great update of my TIE/Ln Fighter ! The wing pylons and cockpit interior are completely rebuilt. Thanks to Cehnot for the inspiration. You can see his work here : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/145007-moc-revenge-of-the-tie-fighter/ You can find a lot of renders of my model on the first post with a link to my FlickR album. I decided to make the LDD file available for 5$ FREE (pack will contain the LDD file of the model, a split-sections LDD file of the model for easy understanding when building it, and a brickstock part-list for bricklinking the parts). Now you can have a minifig-scale, accurate and sturdy model of the iconic TIE Fighter which will be perfect for display and playing ! Ramses25 Edited March 17, 2017 by Ramses25 Quote
belkor Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Tie looks really great!! Charging $5 for an lxf that's been put together iteratively by a few people here on EB is a bit cheeky though. Quote

In a certain point of view it will help me for my other MOC projects, but on the other hand I find it a little bit unfair, because people like me loves when great MOC are putting here for free. So I think I will put it here for free ;) Ramses25 Quote
belkor Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 OK cool - nice one ☺ Let's hope we see some brick built versions appear here soon! Quote
IronFish Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) Wow, awesome tie fighter. I need one of these for my collection but the last official Lego one is so outdated, this would be perfect! Are you going to add the LFX to the main post, or are you going to give it out via PM? Edited March 19, 2017 by IronFish Quote
