[MOD] Preserving the Pelta

So, I like the stock Pelta (ahem, Rebel Assault Frigate) - it has a lot of technic elements (and I do mean a lot), but the model feels fairly robust, and there's a fair amount of usable interior space, even if it's just one big, unusually-shaped room. However, the exterior is a bit of a drag - there are tons of studs for a ship that, in Star Wars Rebels, really doesn't have a great deal of greebling. Moreover, the color palette is... disappointing. So when I finished, although I felt like I had the bones of a really awesome ship, I was kind of underwhelmed looking at it on the shelf. Within a day, I settled on a solution that would resolve the appearance problems without breaking the bank: 'armor plating' the vessel from stem to stern. The result is as follows:

Now, obviously, this isn't some kind of total reconstruction, nor is it incredibly creative. But I do feel like it makes this particular model look a lot more shelf-worthy (and I feel like the smooth parts make the greebled areas on the sides pop more), and I am so pleased with the finished product that I plan on doing another after Christmas in a blue/grey scheme. It actually turns out to be a pretty cheap way to flesh out a Rebel (or, I suppose, Imperial [though it would just be shades of grey]) fleet with small capital ships.

Also, I wanted to add, I intentionally used contours where there were none in the show - I wanted this to look like it was an additional layer of protection on the outer portion of the hull. I may tinker with the design on the second go-around to make the other ship more angular (and thus visually distinct).
