Choops Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 (edited) Here is an early drawing of a 3 stud engine I am working on. This is what I thought Lego should have created for the Porshe GT3. Larger size for bigger models. The piston is 2 studs diameter. The stroke is 2 studs. New part allows for 90 degree cranks. works with existing engine block ends. pins on top for creating cylinder heads. If there is interest I may make available at shapeways. May have to wait for brickshelf approval to see images. thoughts or concerns. Steve Edited October 27, 2016 by Choops Quote
M_longer Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Your engine would be too big for the Porsche. Quote
letsbuild Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Wait, Lego made a Porsche GTR? Where do I get one? Quote
brunojj1 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 TLC should have come up with some new designs a long time ago. Now for the 42056 Porsche GT3 RS the scale of the 20+ year old piston engine seems to approach the real dimensions for the first time in history… If you mean by "3 studs" the width of each cylinder housing, it´s far too big even for 1/8 scale car models, IMO, I´d rather suggest – keep it by 2 studs. Nice work anyway! Quote
