Something I've been tinkering with over the past few months.. It seems to work very consistently, so I may move forward with it.. 1st Gear is using the center differential at 3:1 and 3rd Gear is using the other end of that differential at 1:1...

I currently have the shocks doubled up because I don't know where I am heading with the body design or how heavy it will be..

That works very smooth, I start to prefer sequential gearboxes. I am just wondering - being not a fan of silicon and/or rubber bands -, if it is possible to deliver the same result with small shock absorbers? As I see, there is enough space for them (even in angled position), also the working distance should be enough too. Would You mind to take a test for it, and create the first LEGO sequential shifter with springs? :classic:

The only thing which bothers me a bit, is the steering wheel drive: the U-joints are a bit out of the recommended working range under those angles. But if there is no stalling which can injure them, than ok. As far I can judge, maybe You can move the complete dashboard a bit backwards yet, the proportions will probably allow it. The steering wheel can be closer to the seats.

Looking forward to the finished (orange?) MOC!

I really like that gear shifter mechanism. The chassis is looking nice as well. As said before, very clean looking.
