Actor Builder Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Hello, all. I recently acquired some free older (Not really really old) LEGO Minifigures in a large pile for free from a friend. I was trying to sort them all and create the original figures when I found this Indian torso with a red scarf. I can only find others like this that have a blue scarf. Is he a special Indian? Or am I confused? Here is a picture, if I can get it to work with the new site... IMG_0549 by Actor Builder, on Flickr Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Nope. Sorry. http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0396&name=Torso Western Indians Necklace and Red Squares Pattern (color reversed 973px105)&category=[Minifig, Torso]#T=S&C=2&O={"color":2} Quote
Actor Builder Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 Thank you. I didn't think so, but there's not one listed on Bricklink with a complete figure. Thanks. My LEGO Indian is happy to know he's "Normal". Quote
Rotundus Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Your minifig torso may not be "special", but if you notice, NO one has any for sale and there is no price history for previous sales, so... Quote
Cwetqo Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 You need to look up complete torso, withj hands: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0396c01#T=S&C=2&O={"color":2} Still, there is no (recent) history... Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 It looks pretty special to me, given that the torso has never appeared in a set and the cheapest one being sold is $4; very expensive for a torso. Quote
RetroInferno Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Could be a mis-print? It's identical to a common chest piece, only with blue tiles on the chest instead of the red ones... Quote
Actor Builder Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 After CM4Sci's reply, I forgot to check this thread and for some reason it didn't notify me... SO what we've concluded is that he's kind of special. I have no idea what set he came in, my friend donated a lot of Minifigures which he had gotten from someone else, so there's no way to tell, really. Is it possible that LEGO intentionally reverse printed some of these, perhaps in an effort to add subtle diversity to the otherwise mostly identical figures? That seems unlikely, but it also seems unlikely that there would be so many of the same misprint. Thanks for all the help so far, everyone. Quote
MAB Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 If I remember correctly 20 or so years ago, they came in the same sets as the correct colour ones. Unless someone opens a new set and proves it to BL, they will never add it as an alternate figure to the inventory. Quote
Robianco Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 $4 to $12 isn't too shabby for a torso so he must be a little special. I know the red wavy women's hair was apparently only released on the Phoenix SDCC figure but it's quite common from being in BAM towers at Lego stores. I wonder if this torso was circulated in a similar way (although obviously older). Either that or as MAB said it's an alternative part of a set that just hadn't been listed on BL. Quote
