Technique to replace (front of car) 14520 in black

I want to do a black car similar to other cars I have, but the 14520 piece doesn't exist in black.  How could a fill the holes I have left on the picture?

You could try using two of 24201. I just tried it on LDD and it seems like it'd fit AND fill the space without rubbing against the tire.

I didn't realize this would work myself until I tried it out! This could be a great new tool for car builders!
