Forresto Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Its an interesting notion to encourage kids to wear helmets but would such a thing be practical? Would designing helmets that look like lego hair molds work in charming keds tk wear a helmet while biking? (Sorry for the messy URL On the internet I try letting people see what theyre clicking on for full transparency) http://mentalfloss.com/article/87004/lego-hair-bike-helmet-might-prevent-brain-trauma Quote
-zenn Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Depends on the kid... Most of them want a 'cool' looking helmet, so it kinda depends on if they think 'lego hair helmet' is cool. Also depends on the country, in mine a helmet isn't mandatory, only with motorcycles/scooters/mopeds. Plus I wouldn't want to give my kid a helmet like that, I'd rather give them a 'skate' helmet instead. Quote
dr_spock Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Depending on the country the helmet may also have to meet national safety standards and passed standardized testing. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I think LEGO hair helmets are a neat idea, and if they could make them safe would likely have a decent market. However their overall idea that kids hate helmets but would like this is quite an exaggeration, there are already many efforts to make cool looking helmets that appeal to kids. Quote
Rotundus Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I agree with the cited article... When do the adult sizes come out! Quote
Covi Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 It aint based on a Lego mould this hair, but it is actually a Playmobil hairpiece. You can see it clearly in the video how they did it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QapmUU2d44U Quote

Maybe because that helmet is from a Danish company. However a similar hairstyle exists in Lego too. Quote
General Magma Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Who the heck mistakes Playmobil for LEGO? Quote
