_Katrine_ Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Hi everyone Do any of you have any experience with the LEGO bricks becoming looser over time? I'am going to build a picture / mosaic for the wall and want to avoid glue since it is a big picture and it would take too much time - I have a deadline. However, would you recommend to glue it or can the bricks hold in many years without glue? I use new LEGO. Thank you Quote
dr_spock Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I have a couple of LEGO sets left assembled for the last 35 years. They are still holding together. Some pieces lost some clutch power but not loose enough to fall apart. Quote
Littleworlds Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Quite a number of my oldest lego pieces from the 80s got pretty loose, so I guess its not an uncommon thing. A thin (!) layer of clear nail polish applied to the bottom part helps. I did the same with some of my minifigure hair pieces and torso party who lost clutch power too. Works well for me Quote
Modulex Guy Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I have 5 very large mosaics built and not one requires glue. I have full trust in the parts to not lose any clutch over time. I still have sets built from the late 90's and they are completely fine and haven't lost any clutch power. You should be fine with not gluing. Quote
_Katrine_ Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Thank you for your comments, I will take the change I guess. Quote
LEGO Historian Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I had a LEGO cathedral built for 25 years.... that was a bugger to take apart!! Quote
NielsVV Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 What do you mean? Did you glue the bricks? Or where the bricks still holding very well? Quote
