Myers Lego Technic Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Hello all, me again. I seem to have caused a bit to much of a stir lately and wish to remove my account. I have OCD and have been losing a tad of sleep over recent issues and believe that it would be better to leave peacefully than to be banned, and was wondering how to remove my account. Thank you all. Sincerely, for the last time Myers Lego technic Quote
KamalMYafi Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) This has been asked again & again, and the answer is same: "You can't do it yourself, and Staffs won't do it for you". Edited September 3, 2016 by KamalMYafi Quote
MRP_ Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 you could just change you'r password to a bunch of random text so you can't see notifications or anything although I would think in a case like this, you could explain it to the admins, maybe they'll be understand and help you out... Quote
z3_2drive Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Have the self control to not go back until you feel confident enough to be mature and calm, it doesn't have to end abruptly and forever. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well... I would put "retired" in my signature, and just... walk away. No need for a dramatic exit, really. Quote
TheMindGarage Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Just leave, and maybe put a note in your signiture. Besides, you might want to come back when you feel ready to. Quote

nerdsforprez Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) I know this thread has been moved but I think a few comments are warranted about member's responses. Lets be sensitive to people who are open about emotional problems they are having. What the OP is trying to convey here is that he/she has a medical diagnosis.... and some members come back with responses such as "have the self control" and don't come back until you are "mature enough" types of responses? Com'on guys and gals. We are better than that. There are whole threads in the "community" section of the forum where people receive support for some of the conditions they have. Aspergers, Autism, etc..... and they are supported. This person is no different. And for what it is worth the whole "just don't log in to your account" business isn't going to work for the OP. That is exactly the point they are trying to make if people would listen. They can't just leave it open because they brood and mull over the account (obsess) until finally they give in and check the account (compulsion). If one is interested in finding more about the condition then look it up. It is one of the more genetically loaded psychiatric illness out there....... giving emphasis to the fact that it is simply not a "maturity" or "self-control" thing. agrof Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Myers, I don't think there was any stir (at least any serious). :) What happened, is normal discussion, it is a pity, that in written user interface it is harder to get the right impressions. If such happens face to face, I am sure You would have different feelings now. But the main thing: don't make any thoughts about it. Lego (not just Technic) is a wonderful and creative hobby, which helps to get away from all day stress, it helped me a lot too. Here in this forum You will get overall a supporting community. Yes, some have individual style of communication, but there is always a helping thought behind. ;) Let's build! :) Quote

I did not see anything wrong with your posts. Could have left the age thing out but other than that not a problem Quote
