Hi, all. I realize this may not be the appropriate subforum for what I'm asking, but I know you all will be the most knowledgeable regarding my Question, and it is a somewhat time sensitive one.

I would like to purchase a Black Noble Kanohi Rau, which I Know would be a customly painted item... and I need it by monday. Maybe what I ask is impossible, but I wanted to know if any of you would be able to direct me to where I may order one such item in the first place.

If you have an idea, I'm all ears. If you want to know the reason, I'm planning to make tohunga Ahkmou, my brother's favorite Bionicle character. He liked that he "hated everyone" and was as far as he was concerned, a magnificent bastard.

I may consider self-done customization as well, and if no one here knows of a source by which I can acquire a very legitimate looking custom, I'll try looking for a tutorial on how to do this kind of thing myself.

Bricklink and a paint shop. I doubt any option will get there on time, but if you just go for any Kanohi Rau, then use spray paint (or better yet, look up a tutorial on how to paint parts), then you'll be able to find the nearest seller and get it to you as quickly as possible.

I have a Metru Ahkmou Rau that I'd be willing to convert to the Flat Black if it comes to self-done custom, but I've never done a custom mask before, and I don't trust myself to do it properly. I guess I could test my painting job on one of the more modern masks... :sceptic:

I was hoping to get a professional mask. I could have sworn there were people out there who did these.

Thanks for the advice!

Modal Masks (http://modaltmasks.deviantart.com) does a really good job at this, and they'll do custom masks. I highly recommend them if you want a more "professional" designer.

An airbrush kit and practice with it could produce the best results. It would cost a lot and take more time though.

Thanks for this suggestion. Maybe I'll find an auto shop and see if they wouldn't charge too much for just a silly sentimental request such as mine.

This is exactly the person I was thinking of. I knew this was an actual business, and it looks like she's still doing it. I may not have time to use her services this time, but I'll keep that link in my back pocket for the next occasion I have for a custom mask. May want to rebuild some of the MNOG I setpieces eventually, and there are several characters made with nonproduction colours, such as Tamaru, another favorite of my brother's

No the airbrush you'd want is a modeler's air brush. I think an auto shop air brush would be so big it wpuld just blow the mask away in a glob of paint...

Hobby stores for Trains, RC Cars, Model Airplanes, and the like would be the best place to find a good airbrush. Perhaps they would know somebody who could paint it for you as a commissioned piece.
