I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic or if it has been discussed anywhere else, but I got to thinking about this the other day: what pieces has TLG introduced that they have surprisingly not reused more often?

The first pieces that come to mind for me are Woody's torso and legs from 2010's Toy Story theme. I'm especially surprised they have not shown up in the CMF line, since the minifigures in that theme tend to use more exclusive parts than most other themes. (There is a brilliant design floating around the inter-webs somewhere of a CMF Basketball Player utilizing them)

I'm also surprised TLG used the "fluffy" hair from Delores Umbridge only once outside the Harry Potter theme (and in the same color, no less). It seems like it could be pretty versatile.

I think the Umbrage hair is replaced by the Gramma/Movie Star hair introduced in the CMF stuff. Agree about the long legs/arms. Those even would have been good for Space Police/Galaxy Squad aliens, I think.

There's a shortened version of the canopy commonly used for Slave-1 sets, that as far as I know is only in the (rare) Ultra Agents boat set that I am surprised hasn't popped up anywhere else.

I'll agree on the long arms and legs being underused. It would be great to see them in other sets.

Also, there are a ton of great pieces introduced in the CMF series that never see use elsewhere (although I will admit that many new pieces are in fact introduced there first before becoming available in other sets).

Very true! I'm glad the Trendsetter's hair is finally showing up in a different color (black in the Marceline Dimensions Level Pack)--it is long overdue! Another one from the CMF theme that's ripe for reuse is the Diner Waitress's hair. It's used on Missy (from Doctor Who) in LEGO Dimensions, but so far she has not been released as a physical minifigure.

The canopy from the Robo Attack set from 2009... it's kind of egg-shaped. I've never seen it anywhere else, and it seems like it could be quite useful for, say, submarines. Or Ninjago sets... they do all sorts of bizarre things with canopies anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if they worked it in somehow.

I would say the biggest offends of this is the animals molds. Have we seen the ostrich or camel out side the Prince of Persia sets?

Or the goat from the Kingdom's Village Raid set.

This reminds me that I was vaguely hoping that the Prince of Persia theme would somehow reintroduce the twice-used Elephant.

Thats indeed true. They would be so suiting to a nice zoo-theme!

That piece is pretty good, I don't know why they haven't reused it or the canopy from the Magnaguard Starfighter.

Yes! We need all of these! With the pig in the Farmer CMF, I'm hoping the goat comes back.

Also, I'd love to see new uses for the Warg molds. Maybe a new wolf-type head for the body to make a dire wolf (since the Warg is so specific to Tolkien), but either way it's a great mold that could be used well in fantasy Castle sets.

I read somewhere that the camel was considered a licensed part and thus not available for use outside the Prince of Persia theme. I honestly don't know if it is true or not. What exactly would make this a Prince of Persia camel instead of a generic camel... now that is mind-boggling!

That just can't be true

As you said, it's just a freaking camel!

They can go as far as reusing the Scooby Doo pumpkin head in the Disney castle

I've always been disappointed that many hairpieces, such as the Dolores Umbridge one mentioned at the beginning of this thread, are not reused. There are some really nice ones included in the CMF's that I've never been able to get because they aren't wildly available. And it seems like TLG uses the same hairpieces every time in City sets! Let's have some more variety!
