captaintau Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 This may seem a bit sad, but what with the ISD, Republic Cruiser, Sandcrawler and all, I lost track of which Astromech droid was which. I've done a little research and come up with the following. I welcome corrections or ommissions: R1-G4 (Green, in a different style - without the common Astromech body) - in the Sandcrawler R2-D2 (Blue print on white parts) - in LOADS of sets. R2-D5 (Bronze print on black parts) - in the ISD R2-R7 (Green print on white parts) - Republic Cruiser R4-P17 (Red print on white parts) - in the Jedi Starfigher (Delta-7 version) R4-P17 (Black print on maroon parts) - in the Jedi Starfighter (Eta-2 / USB version) < this is meant to be the same droid, though in AOTC he is bodyless whereas he'd gained a body for ROTS though the body isn't in the set > R4-G9 (Bronze print on maroon parts) - Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring. Again, head only R5-D4 (Red print on white parts) - Y-Wing (both versions) R5-D4 (Red print on white parts with tan plate in between head and body) - Sandcrawler < these arn't the same droid, they just happen to have the same designation > Unidentified Quote
mutley777 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Ok i addded pics from BL to make this easier. first we have full droids. R1-G4 R2-D2 R2-D5 R2-R7 R5-D4 (Sandcrawler version) R5-D4 Then our poor unbodied droids. :-D R4-G9 R4-P17 It is a real shame lego has not given us bodies and legs for those last two droids :-( as for all the different numbers for the droids you could be there forever. :-D just make some up X-D Quote
Vader Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Amen to that last statement buddy, i really wish lego would of given us bodies for P-17 and G-9. Without them they just don't look as good as they could, lets just hope lego one day sees the error of their ways :'-( Quote

On the fact I am counting on a rerelease of the Ultimate Space Battle set with Obie's red JSF !! And guess what colour the droid is ? dark red, yes sir and since the entire droid fits in that JSF... catch my drift lads ;-) Now lets hope I'm right :-P *yoda* Quote

But most of the people have the sets with them in it. [V-wing and Blue Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive blabla..] But then they need to buy a new set to complete the droid?. :-| Quote
Shadows Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 LEGO pretty much calls all red astromechs R5-D4, even with the wrong head. Then again, they all have the wrong head too. To be honest, if TLG wants to make the average AFOL happy, and satisfy the kids at the same time, all they have to do is include an astromech in every set possible, giving us some new colours. It's the easiest kind of modification they can make to a figure to make a completely new one. Just imagine the possibilities ... Oh, and I don't know the official designation of that 4th droid on the bottom, but that's what LEGO keeps calling R5-D4 and #2 on the top row is an example of just how easy a colour change is to make a new droid. Yellow R2. Bam, done. Astromechs On! *y* Quote

That would be the second most useful BP, after Trooper BPs :-D R2, R4, R5 and R7 should all be in it, the crappy vehicle would be an astromech transport :-P Then after a Protocal Droid BP with C3PO, K3PO, The Golden C3PO, TC-14 and a Black one X-D Droid B'Ps ON! General Zen Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 If lego made a protocal droid battle pack, i would buy tons of them and make an army. i can hear the lego commercial now... The planet is under attack, and you can be helpless and quite obnoxious with the new lego star wars protocol droid battlepack. You can run in fear, ramble like c-3po or get blown to pieces by the enemy fighters! The new star wars collection! Each set sold sepretely. X-D Quote
