jlassen Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 So there is a new Lego store opening in San Francisco. Any idea what the "Limited-Edition LEGO Store Set" or "Exclusive LEGO Minifigure Set" will be? Is it the same at each store opening? I'm intrigued, and have been putting of a purchase so as to perhaps get one of these. Is the lego store set a set of a lego store? Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Any idea what the "Limited-Edition LEGO Store Set" or "Exclusive LEGO Minifigure Set" will be? Is it the same at each store opening? In the past, it's been a set of 3 minifigures and a Brand Store model. Many times the minifigures and packaging are unique to the store. Quote
HawkLord Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 The set is the current Lego store build that came out in the past couple years. An update of the older one. It's basically a buildable Lego store that's not to scale, but still pretty cool and includes one minifigure. The minifigures set are three minifigures packed in the PaM clamshell container with a cardboard insert that lists the city or state where the store opened. The minifigures also have special printing on their backs indicating the location, as well. In the past the cardboard insert would show a skyline of the specific city, but now the inserts are more generic. The minifigures themselves are generic common minifigures usually city-based. These sets are numbered based on how many are slotted to the store and are fairly randomized - so if you're first in line, you don't necessarily get set #1/400, for example. Quote

rodiziorobs Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) When my local store opened (Murray, UT, USA) about 3 years ago, I don't remember any unique set giveaways, but I didn't get there in time to wait in line, either. They did, however, give away quite a few other sets randomly. I managed to score a Sopwith Camel (in a damaged box, but hey, I wasn't complaining!) so it could be worth it to stop by even if you aren't one of the first few in line. It's white with Brickley's face & a few sections snaking through. That'swhat my eyes are on. I'm excited to finally get to a grand opening & get one of these. Quote
