heryx Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) Hi Guy, I am thinking to design a little huge model (around H:150cm L:100cm W:50cm) by using LDD, but the problem is how can i know do i my final model reach the size requirement(any ruler in the program?) i am thinking if my result not match my size requirement, i have to design AGAIN! hope to hear any good idea form here. Many thanks Edited August 4, 2016 by heryx Quote
Calabar Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) LDD is not adequate to manage such a large models. Even with a powerful PC, a few tens of thousands of bricks bring the software to hang. About measuring the size of the model, it is easy considering that a classic 1x1 brick have a base of about 0,8 cm and it is almost 1 cm (0,96) high (more considerations here). heryx Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 OK, i found that MLCad with the Dimensions information but LDD just didn't. as you saying, Do i shouldn't use LDD to begin the design because it will hang after reach a number of brick? LDD look more easy so i just thinking to build in there. MLCad is the only choose for big model? Quote
JGW3000 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) If you want to do the math, a one stud brick is 0.8 cm wide, so 100cm is 125 studs. If the build is sparse, LDD should be OK with a project this size. After about 4 or 5000 elements it will start to bog down. Edited August 4, 2016 by JGW3000 Quote
