Captain Braunsfeld Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Hello, I have built a small outpost and played around with "how to do the water" for some time. So, here I present the version with a "clean" baseplate: So, in a way, the studs are the waves. The musketeer seems to be on an urgent mission... C&C welcome! BrickCurve Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Great job! One thing that could be added here would be to add some white and a blue plates to the blue base plate to make the water seem more realistic and natural. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Poor guy must get REALLY lonely :-( Ok, I should have added another minifig Great job! One thing that could be added here would be to add some white and a blue plates to the blue base plate to make the water seem more realistic and natural. Good idea, but not for this version. This might look better with non-transparent bricks. Which is a challenge for me as I don't have enough blue plates... Quote
kurigan Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I rarely comment on land-based MOCs, my "expertise" being the sea-going variety, but there is just something charming about this one. Perhaps it's just nostalgic. I feel your pain though; there are just never enough bricks for our latest, best ideas Quote

Brent and Halfdan Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I like this lantern! The revised version looks better for me, even if that flag has an confusing glimpse. Quote
CaptainJackBrickster Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 (edited) Reminds me alot of sabre island, but with much more detail of course! Also I think i like the clean look a lot more than with studs around it, the studs make the build look random, just my opinion though, either way the outpost still looks awesome, and reminicent of older sets. By the way, where did the musketeer go? Did he meet up with his buddies? Come on man, we need answers! Edited July 29, 2016 by CaptainJackBrickster Quote

Brick Corner Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Your MOC is much more better than regular skull islands! Quote
