KotZ Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 As soon as Heckz woke up, he wanted to say something, but instead the only thing that came out of his mouth was vomit. For about 10 seconds, he couldn't stop the flow. Not that he didn't want to throw up. Those calories had to go some way or another, he thought. "And that's why it's called vomead!" "Well," Simon starts, still reeling from the vomead, "we still have to go prove I'm pious and I'm strong." "I have an idea!" "Oh no..." "There's a fight club down in one of the sewers close to the marketplace. I don't know which sewer, so ask around. But be discreet. As for the pious thing. Well, I'm no priest but I'd say go check out a temple." Quote

KotZ Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 So the party and Simon set off to the market. The moon is high now. Drinking took them a long time. All but three shops had closed. One was manned by an old farmer, another had a short orc, and at the third, a map maker. There were three manholes by them, one per each. Quote

What kind of map are you looking for?" Hoke approaches the short orc. "Good eve. What might you have for sale?" Obsan the Orc looks Hoke up and down. "They may lack your taste, Sir Knight," he replies in a high-pitched nasally voice. "Mostly armor. I was just closing up shop for the night, but if you want, I can drag some stuff out for you." Heckz goes to the old farmer. "What exactly is so special about your food if you have to sell them late at night, I wonder?" He impatiently awaits an answer. He cautiously looks around before answering. "Let's just say this stuff isn't exactly... legal. Smuggled, untaxed, stolen. That's my specialty." Quote

KotZ Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 "Let's take a look at your 'exotic' goods then..." Says Heckz, expecting to see some kind of rare lotion for his hair. Hector's Not-so-Legal Wares Forbidden Apple (has a half chance of causing blinded or transcended to the user) Costs 13 gold. Half used elixir (has 1 1/3 chance of acting as a normal elixir, 1/3 chance to become petrified, and 1/3 chance to become bound) Costs 10 gold. Smuggled Orange (Has a 1/2 chance of causing jinxed, 1/2 chance of causing Blessed) Costs 15 gold. "OK to Eat Meat" (The user becomes Encouraged but is Bound and Cursed) Costs 20 gold. Hmm, Lawrence, do you happen to have a map of the sewers? We are trying to find an underground fight club, and one member of our party doesn't like to get his boots dirty. So, a map with the cleanest route to the fight club please. If you have one, that is. Torald whispers, to not attract attention. The map maker's eyes narrow into tiny slits. His voice falls to a whisper. "How dare you mention something like that at a full voice! Yu should know there are no illegal fight clubs! I only make maps of sewers! Do not talk to me!" "I'll take a look then." "Oh yes, sir! One moment!" He drags out all the armor he can. "There are some duplicates, but only one of my masterpiece." Obsan the Orc's Shop White Ninja Cowl (Once per battle, the wearer can choose to hide for up to three rounds, avoiding Free Hits; the effect ends if the user targets an enemy; suitable to rogues, beast warriors, chi monks and infiltrators; headwear) Costs 60 gold. Leather Armour (SP:1, suitable for barbarians, knights, rogues, rangers, beast warriors, cannoneers, dragoons, harlots, inflitrators, marauders, minstrels, regulators, skirmishers, vindicators and winged warriors; bodywear.) Costs 35 gold. Knight’s Armour (SP:3, suitable for knights; bodywear.) Costs 100 gold. Rickety Armor (SP: 4; suitable for knights and barbarians; bodywear.) Costs 140 gold. Obsan's "Masterpiece" (SP: 10; suitable for knights, barbarians, beast masters, dragoons, marauders and regulators; Immune to Ice, Wind and Wood; bodywear) Costs 345 gold. While her quest mates chat with the merchants, Quintessa decides to snoop around every manhole cover, trying to differentiate them based on smell or noise coming from them. Quintessa finds that the manhole by the farmer has the cleanest smell. Nothing... too foul seems to be emmanating from that one. There's a tiny bit of noise but it sounds mostly like rats. The manhole by the orc is by far the loudest and smelliest. The rank odor of rotten food, feces, dead corpses and probably the odd Hinckwell rises up in waves out of the manhole cover. Perhaps Obsan was by it as he could be the only being who could tolerate that smell for so long. The manhole by the mapmaker smells and there is sound. But the sound seems to echo too much for Quintessa to properly make out. Was it... chanting? Screaming? Or was it the sound of rats scurrying along the sewers? But then, there was a loud splash in the sewer water. It was something big. Quote

She then coyly returns to her quest mates. "Listen up, gentlemen. The nice map seller is willing to part with a map of the sewers for 100 gold. Unfortunately We do not carry such amounts in Our person, so someone else ought to handle that business. We also discovered that the manhole by the farmer is nondescript, the manhole next to the orc is full of noise and bilgewater, and that there is something large hiding in the manhole near the map seller. The map should help us figure out which way to go, in any case." Quote
