1974 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Oi gang! I found this going through some old UK "Bricks 'n Pieces" magazines from 1979 and I thought you all might be interested (Well actually, mine are digital copies and I did my best to make a decent photoshop composition as it was spread over two pages) Now, this is just two years after the first film, episode IV aka "A New Hope" was released so I think the builder did quite allright with the parts available at that time. I know I coulnd't have done any better myself To the left we have Leia, Luke, Han and Chewie .. to the right we have C-3PO, R2-D2, two jawas and a stormtrooper. And in the middle a deadly battle between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi fighting with their "force beams" (!) I do wonder if John Milverton from Heswall might still be an AFOL? Anyway, if I've never seen "Star Wars" I would certainly see it after looking at this MOC Cheers, Ole Quote
BrickCurve Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Very impressive for something from 1979. Hopefuly someone reading this will know if he is still an AFOL. Quote
jamie75 Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 That is awesome!! I was 3 when the first movie came out. I had a tub Lego when I was kid, but, nothing I built came close. I too, wonder if he is, not only a AFOL, but, maybe on here or another site, Rebelscum? Thanks for sharing, Jamie Quote
mortesv Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Thanks for sharing this Ole! This has to be one of the very first SW mocs ever. It is certainly well made - I am a big fan of the flowing brick built capes :) Quote
1974 Posted July 17, 2016 Author Posted July 17, 2016 Well, I thought it was interesting, being so close to the first SW film (and also interesting enough to get posted on reddit -Whoha, I'm famous!) When I put the pics together I showed them to my seven year old son (who has been watching SW films for +4 years) and he could instantly pick out all the individual characters in a splt second, so I think this young MOC'er did real good It's just about as good as that japanese (?) guy who did all the original episodes together with 80's parts .. I lost the link - anybody have it? I'd like it, please Cheers, Ole Quote

You do not by any chance have the name of the moccer? :) Quote
1974 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 I know it's been linked here on EB at least once, so perhaps a search will do? It was/is a rather grand website diveded into chapters with a MOC for each one Pretty damn cool Cheers, Ole Quote
HawkLord Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Great MOC. It's always interesting seeing what people were doing back then with such limited parts. Quote
