General Magma Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) I'm in need of the more recent versions of LEGO dinosaurs, however they're very expensive and some of them are hard to come by for prices that are even remotely reasonable to me. A T-Rex, 40 euros each (out of three variants, excluding the Indominus Rex which I don't need), a singular Triceratops, 40 euros so much the same, and all of the raptors going for between 10 and 20 euros each. I never thought I'd come this close to going for bootleg stuff instead of real LEGO, but the prices of the official ones are, simply put, too high, so I'm going to have to. I've also considered just building dinosaurs, and I might still take that into consideration (since the current range of dinosaurs still doesn't cover many species), but until I know how much the pieces for that will cost me and if they (brickbuilt ones) would be functional for MOCs and photography, as well as stopmotion animation, I'll have to consider the special molded ones. My question now is - do any of you have these bootleg dinosaurs (from "Lele", for example), and would you consider them to be worth it? How do they compare next to the official dinosaurs? Have you encountered any quality-related issues, such as breaking or discolouring of parts, or limb joints being too loose? Let me know, perhaps with pictures or videos. It would be of great help! Forresto Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I cant speak on the mosern dinos or any bootleg versions but have you tried the original lego Dinos? From the old school adventurer sets as well as Jurrasic Park 3. Then there is the Dino Attack theme which has the mutant looking dinos as well Quote
Robianco Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Digger318 on Youtube has reviewed a few of the bootleg Dinosaurs: Hope this helps. Quote

I'll either want the modern dinosaurs or use bricks to make my own. Digger318 on Youtube has reviewed a few of the bootleg Dinosaurs: Hope this helps. Will check those out, thanks! Quote
HawkLord Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I don't know if this might help you, but the JW sets are still available from the Lego site and at some stores in the US. I've been waiting to find some clearance prices, as I doubt the sets will stay at retail too much longer. What this means is that I would bet secondary market prices could be coming down, as usually their very high for items not still available in stores. With any luck, lower secondary market prices may benefit you in the country you are in. Quote
