MrFishboy11 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be able to put the Rollercoaster on a motor of some kind, and allow it to run with a remote. If anyone knows a way to do this please let me know! Thanks Quote
M_slug357 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 You could always experiment yourself, and post the results of your progress here...? For the most part, motorizing trains for 4 wide track is pretty difficult, but since it's a rollercoaster of sorts, maybe try recreating the rack&pinion system that real-life rollercoasters use? Just a thought.... Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Yes a chain like system would make more sense. Still it might be tricky to keep the car on the rails all the time. Real roller coasters normally use a wheel set up that attaches to the rail in three different places, hugging to it it. The Lego train wheels in the Friends coaster only sit on top of the rail, great for trains, not great for a coaster. Quote
dr_spock Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 You may find the wheels on the Friends coaster not all that free rolling. The coaster may not coast all the way back to the chain lift and stops somewhere in the curve tracks at the bottom.. You may have to MOD a bigger drop to build up enough moment to make it around or have something push the coaster from the curve back to the lift part. Good luck. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Fantastic tips about this cool mini rollercoaster! Quote
