Victor Imaginator Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Very clean looking model. You're really master of new panels) If I was choosing what to improve - I think that making front bumper slightly longer will make this model more Porsche-looking. Even if this model dreamed of being Subaru) Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) I'm not sure what I'm jealous of more, your design ability, your scaling ability, or your panel collection Right written... Really great work James. I like it a lot. That use of panels is impressive. It looks good from every angle. :) The gold wheels look pretty good. :) Max Edited July 6, 2016 by MaxSupercars Quote
Didumos69 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I also envy your 'design with panels'-skills. I think you could actually do with one type of panel . I'm affraid I'm more a chassis type of man. Quote
JamesJT Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) Wow! I hope the Rebrick judges like it as much as you guys. Thank you. If I was choosing what to improve - I think that making front bumper slightly longer will make this model more Porsche-looking. I keep looking at that too. I'm sure it was longer but maybe I put it back together wrong on one its many rebuilds. I will give it a try. I'm affraid I'm more a chassis type of man. I spent loads of time on the chassis too. XL motor on each axel, 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, suspension and a servo clutch on each axel so it can free wheel and use the motors as brakes. Since it has a clutch on both axels it could still be called a PDK! I had another look at the scale. If I make it exacly 1:8 then I get a car the same size as the original 911 (but with 400mm more in the wheel base) Height 1360mm Length 4160mm Wheelbase 2400 (still plenty of room for the 3 seat configuration) Track 1400mm Seats 720mm wide All that would make the rims a slightly less ridicules 23". JamesJT Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 I feel like every part I add will make the car slower so I'm putting off finishing it while I consider some weight saving. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I like the new signature. Yeah, the car looks pretty good too. The gold wheels are boss. Quote
JamesJT Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 These are both 1:8 scale, it was rude not to introduce them. Quote
Chade Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 That is one beautiful looking porsche! It has a scary number of new panels though Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 They look really lovely and got very clean design... :) Max Quote
JamesJT Posted July 10, 2016 Author Posted July 10, 2016 (edited) Thank you Chade and Max. It has 19x18944 and 48x 24116. I spotted the 24116 panel in black on the new Volvo set 42053. Edited July 10, 2016 by JamesJT Quote
JamesJT Posted July 13, 2016 Author Posted July 13, 2016 All done. I just need to take a few more photos and make the 1 minute video. MIssion E Coupe 3S 1 by James Tillson, on Flickr I made the cutaway picture to show how the 3 seats fit in such a small car. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I really like the white interior, and those gold wheels are great. Quote
