Featured in "The Empire Strikes Back" as well as a playable vehicle in the upcoming Bespin DLC for Star Wars: Battlefront, this vehicle resonates with many Star Wars fans around the world, and it is also one of my favorites given its elegant design and look of a futuristic automobile.

LEGO released their own rendition of the craft in 2002, and since then, only one updated model has been released. On the downside, this new model is not built to minifigure scale. My design is great at being a substitute in this case.

Before I start in on the features of this design, I should give a shoutout to the designer who designed his own version of this ship, which served as the inspiration for my design. You can check out his model out here on LEGO Ideas.

This model has been designed according to the specifications of the original craft. With opening side doors on both sides, a smooth assembly, functional cockpit glass, and a realistic center engine box assembly, this design is perfect.

Here are some more pictures of the ship from different angles.

Comments are welcome. I'm especially interested to hear opinions and suggestions on the cockpit glass assembly. I had some trouble making it look more like the real thing, so I just kept to the design featured in 7119.

I like the over all shape of it! You nailed it there.

The only thing I don't like about this and the 2002 model is the windscreen! That is only issue! Other than that, great model.
