Zuloon Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Isn't it more fun to build things in real life than it is to build things in a video game? Quote
Lt. Veers Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 True, but in a video game you don't run out of bricks. Quote
Tom_castlefan Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 True, but in a video game you don't run out of bricks. Quoted for truth. Also, it's easier to socialise, and with the prospect of a Eurobricks guild, we can further involve ourselves in the hobby, whilst retaining a sense of community. Tom Quote
Corvus Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 It's not necessarily about building; I know that LDD gives me a headache after a while. While I can't vouch for anyone else, I'd like to play it because I've always wanted to be a minifig in a minifig-sized world. Sure, LSW and the like let you play as lego characters, but it doesn't give you the depth and choice that we'll be seeing in Universe. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Because I'm really looking forward to paying $50 for the game and then $10 a month to play it! Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Because I'm really looking forward to paying $50 for the game and then $10 a month to play it! Oh no, not a LEGO World of Warcraft! Quote
CP5670 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Because I'm really looking forward to paying $50 for the game and then $10 a month to play it! This is the real problem as far as I'm concerned. I am a big PC gamer in general, but I don't like pay-per-month MMOs. As I said in the pinned thread a while ago, any pay-per-month game will have flawed gameplay by its very nature. Quote
Millacol88 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 This is the real problem as far as I'm concerned. I am a big PC gamer in general, but I don't like pay-per-month MMOs. As I said in the pinned thread a while ago, any pay-per-month game will have flawed gameplay by its very nature. Tell that to the several million WOWcrack addicts. That'd be a riot I'd like to see. To answer the question that started this thread, I'm not looking forward to it. It will probably not be good enough to pay for every month. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 [rant]I have to agree wih Millacol on this one, I won't be paying or playing for this game, because that's money I could be spending on real LEGO bricks, and minifigs, to use to build real LEGO creations I can swoosh and have fall over cliffsides. () I hope all those kids out there that are begging their parents to pay 100 bucks to play for a few months have good luck, because a lot of people won't stand for those kinds of prices.[/rant] Quote
-JD- Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 (edited) I think it is a silly idea for LEGO to get kids on the computers all the time instead of actually building things. And I think loads of kids will want this, but will be very upset when their parents refuse to pay a ridiculous (IMO) price once a month. So yeh, it looks good, but I would hate it for the kids and some adults to get sucked into another second life game. WoW is bad enough! I think I made it clear I am not into or getting this. Big Cam Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I had no idea it would be a pay per month thing. I am content with the LEGO games that have made it to the consoles. Quote

I had no idea it would be a pay per month thing.I am content with the LEGO games that have made it to the consoles. I heard you could buy it and pay for year (maybe entire) or a realy low by-monthly pay Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Oh no, not a LEGO World of Warcraft! Oh no, not a real World of Warcraft! . I am looking forward to the game simply because I enjoy gaming and LEGO. This game will bring both together. However I'm not a fan of the monthly subscription fee. I'm not a big fan of games like that. Quote
MillerTime Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) Don't complain about the price if you're gonna pay it. That's just retarded. The only way prices for any of Lego's items will go down is if people don't buy them when they know they're overpriced. Countless times I've seen people say "This is way overpriced. Oh well. I'll get it anyway." Just say no. By the way, is this thing out yet?? I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. Edited September 22, 2009 by MillerTime Quote
Mission Commander Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I think it will be a grear game, sure I like building real bricks but sometimes... Quote
saberwing Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I'm not gonna play this game just so that I won't run out of bricks, But because it would be awesome to have the life of a minifig! It would be really cool to combine LEGO building with rpg games, so that you could (for example) drive your own build car! About the monthly fee: I hope that it won't happen. If it does, I'm unfortunately not going to buy it. Quote
phillip10 Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 That is stupid why you have to pay! They should have you only have to pay for memberships and thats it! Maybe lego wants more money for better sets! Cough "NOT" Cough Quote
RocketClone Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Personally i like the Real-life thing. Quote
Go Cubs Go! Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 (edited) I never knew it was going to be a pay to play game! I rather spend money on real legos not virtual ones. I dont care how theres a never ending supply and all that. By the way Isn't there already a game thats kinda like LU thats free? From,GoCubsGo! Edited November 22, 2009 by Go Cubs Go! Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 By the way Isn't there already a game thats kinda like LU thats free? Do you mean Roblox? I doubt it's anything as good as LU will be. But I could be wrong. Quote
time1513 Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 i was just checking the lego website and stumbled on the LU page. if i have to pay i don't think I'll be paying for this game. it's simply crazy. i think Lego should just charge this to their marketing fund so at least they know what people would want cause im sure they would be tracking it down. this is sad, if they have to ask for a charge Quote
MarcusV3 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Like others have said before, I personally think it'd be a lot of fun to live the life of a mini figure in a lego world. It's always been a dream of mine to shrink down and live in the cool creations and sets that I've built, and I know many other people who would like the idea as well. Now if you're not interested in buying it then fine, honestly I think doing a digital thing like this could really benefit TLC. Now I may not be a big fan of the pay per month idea myself, but is it even confirmed that it's $10? and honestly I do think it could help Lego make better sets. Now they have a way to find out what their consumers want and it could mean some great sets in the future Quote
Big Cam Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 There is no coubt this game would be fun, in fact I'm fairly certain I'll try it but if they plan on charging per month they can forget it, plus it's been like 2 years since this thread was started, is LEGO ever going to release this game? Quote
Steel Dragon Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Do you mean Roblox?I doubt it's anything as good as LU will be. But I could be wrong. I was actually active on Roblox for about five months, and I have to say that what it lacks in graphic it makes up for in playability and build ease. I suggest it to brick-gamers on a budget. I think that the argument against LU game, in favor of real sets, because of price is invalid. -LU doesn't keep you from buying real Lego, too. -$10/month isn't THAT bad. Consider the price of a single dish at a restaurant... -LU will be awesome! The graphics are stunning, story looks fleshed (er... yellowed ) out despite theme mix, and gameplay is sure to live up to these other two factors. The only thing I'm apprehensive of, is the fact that not one forestman has shown up in all the media so far. Quote
Kizoku Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 My son is greatly looking forward to Lego universe. He's played all the previous Lego games, and likes the idea of building anything inside the game. Quote
